Is that SUN I think I see?!

Good Morning Beauties,

I hope this smashingly sunny Sunday morning finds you all smiling a little more than usual? It's Christie here, sister to Caitlin and currently babysitter to From the Heart!

The uncharacteristic English sun on this Sunday reminds me that those cheeky UVB  assasins are ever present and ready to damage your beautiful skin, come sun, rain cloud and all, if you let them!

Not big fans of suncream of any kind, Caits and I have been on a mission to find a solution and I think we’ve struck gold - a little pricier but well worth the investment - Clinique’s City Block SPF 25 is, I firmly believe, the way forward. Its a little like a tinted moisturizer so you can go it alone for that fresh faced and dewy look, or, if like me, you prefer a little more coverage, its ideal under your foundation. Not only does it protect you from those cheeky cheeky rays that WILL age you prematurely if you let them (yes, I am assured by professionals that this is EVEN the case in grey and gloomy England), it also acts as a pretty smashing primer, giving your foundation a even and dewy finish.

An added bonus is that SPF 25 is BELOW SPF 30 (God, I’m smart...) and what that means is that it doesn’t reflect horrendously in photos, as anything over 30 does. This is a plus if you’re anything like us, a little snappy happy at times...
Speaking of which, Caits and I will be in Brighton today and hope we’ll get some pics for all you beauties!

Toodlepip for now,

Christie XOXO

Topshop Wishlist

Hello, hello!

I have been online, googling and what not (how posh), for a little while this evening and I KEEP looking at this skirt... I have seen it in quite a few Topshop's and WANT WANT WANT it! I just think a sequin skirt is something every girl should have... I just love it. Mmmmmmm <3

Is anyone else loving sequins as much as me this season?

A little Mavala Love

Hello Beautiful People,

How are you all today? I must say, I can't complain. I got to walk my boyfriend's puppy (he's gorgeous and I just love pretending he's mine!) I'm also heading to Brighton tomorrow to see my boy, so, all in all, I'm pretty happy. Although I wish I had more to do with my days (looking for work during your Gap year is harder than it seems...) I am trying to live in the moment and enjoy the time I have to just 'be'.

I wanted to post something today as I may not be able to over the weekend (although I have some more OOTD's lined up for you!) However, my gorgeous sister, Christie, will be babysitting From the Heart over the weekend and has some lovely posts lined up for you all!

Today I wanted to share some Mavala love with you all. I bought two gorgeous Malava nail varnishes yesterday and just LOVE them. I have officially found my perfect winter shade; 'The Elle Grey'. It's just perfect for the fast approaching winter months... I also bought Mavala's Minute Quick-Flash top coat, which did not disappoint! After applying the top coat my nails dried within thirty-seconds! Impressive. Also, and this is a huge bonus for me, the top coat didn't make my perfect Elle Grey bubble. I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but with many of the fast-drying top-coats I have tried they cause the nail varnish underneath to bubble, and this, is NOT okay! I love that the varnish's I bought are in smaller than average sized bottles, as nail varnish tends to go 'gloopy' quite quickly... Plus, I have had the same nail varnish's sitting around since year dot because I tend to get bored of a colour after a while... So I think in this respect Mavala have the formula just right. They come in at around the £4.50 marker, which again, is something I love about them. They're the perfect way to treat yourself without breaking the bank; and, the quality is definitely up there with OPI and Nails Inc. DEFINITELY worth a look.

Lots and lots of love, girlies,

Caitlin <3

Ps. What is YOUR perfect winter shade?

DIY Fairy Lights

Hello Beautiful People! <3

Today I wanted to share something I made recently and love. I'm a big fan of 'room cosification' (as I call it) and adore fairy lights. The trouble is that it is often hard to justify spending £30-£40.00 on fairy lights. So, I decided to get crafty and make some rose fairy lights for the top of my bed. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out; and they really couldn't be more simple to make! Mine cost a grand total of £8.00 to put together.

All you need is a garland of your choice; these are actually really easy to come by. My rose garland is from Urban Outfitters (www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk). I got them on sale for £5.00! I don't think that it is still available at Urban Outfitters, but try ebay or etsy; I always find they have a wide selection and are very reasonable. Then you need some plain white fairy lights! Again, these are extremely easy to come by; even amazon stocks them! The DIY part of this process is even more simple; all you have to do is entwine the lights with the garland and hey presto! Prettiness! <3 I'd love to know what you all think!

Lots of Love,
Caitlin <3

Sunny Saturday Love

Hello hello!

So it's been a few days since my last post, but over the weekend I felt like doing another ootd for you all. I had a lovely weekend... My boyfriend who has recently gone to university came home for the weekend (yayness!) and we went to celebrate a friends birthday in London with my sister and a group of her friends. It was rather lovely. In fact, I left feeling as what can only be described as giddy (whether that was facilitated by the numerous drinks we all consumed I cannot be sure, but it was joyous nonetheless). I will stop my rambling now and move onto the ootd; I hope you enjoy :)

Blazer: Topshop (£45.00)
T-Shirt: Topshop (£15.00)
Skirt: H&M (on sale now I think!)
Shoes: Country Road (I'm not sure where a shop in the UK is...)
Bag: Whistles (from my lovely sisterling; on LOAN!)

Lots of Love,

Caitlin <3

Ps. Here's to a wonderful week !

An Introduction

Hello, beautiful people,

Neither of us have ever written a blog before, and so, are not really sure how to go about introducing one. We'll try our best to introduce you to us, and, what we hope our blog will be.

Our names are Caitlin (a 22-year-old psychology graduate) and Christie (a 26-year-old professional dancer and now business graduate), and we're super silly sisters who share a love for beauty and fashion (and, each other!) Having been invisible members of the online beauty community for around two years now, we decided to take the leap and start our own blog. We hope you'll welcome us.

This, our blog, is written for anyone who wants to read it, and each post, comes From the Heart. Although we have no idea where this journey will take us, we hope you'll enjoy reading our posts.

What to expect? You can expect joint and individual posts; you'll always know who's who because we'll sign off each time. We can't wait to start posting and getting to know you all!

Lots of love to you all, whoever and wherever you are,

Caitlin & Christie
xXx
